Franklin’s Air Attack Bombs Roosevelt’s Ground Game 49-33

The Roosevelt (Los Angeles, CA) varsity football team lost Thursday’s home non-conference game against Franklin (Los Angeles, CA) by a score of 49-33.

Aldo Parral, “Franklin is a great ball club, but we felt it was our game to lose.”

“We told kids that we could not make mistakes nor have 7 and 11 beat us. We Made mistakes and 7 & 11 had a great night.”

“We played their pace and not ours, we scored way too quick and left our defense on the field TOO long.”

“We had a hold that brought back a touchdown. And a kickoff that we clearly recovered but ball was given to Franklin. Referees ruled that we could not recover a ball in the air. Afterwards they admitted they made a mistake and it should have been Roosevelt ball at the Franklin 30, after we had just scored a TD and momentum going our way. That call early in the game, cost us an opportunity to score.”

“Proud of kids and their effort all the way til the end.”

“Sometimes a loss is a good thing for your club. It teaches you that you can’t make mistakes and expect to win. We look forward to seeing Franklin again in the playoffs, they are a well coached team with a lot of talent.”
