Montebello rallies in second half to beat Bell Gardens

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Montebello 36, Bell Gardens 22: 

Augustin Maldonado completed 11 of 15 passes for 265 yards with a touchdown and rushed for another score as the Oilers opened Almont League action with a home victory over the Lancers. It was the first game for new Bell Gardens coach Victor Salazar.

David Padilla, a transfer from Rosemead, hauled in five receptions for 165 yards and a touchdown. Montebello will take on Schurr next Thursday night in a renewal of one of the most intense rivalries in the Whittier area.
