The 2025 Roosevelt High School girls flag football season will open up on Wednesday September 3rd as The Lady Riders will host Sotomayor High School at 2:00pm and Crenshaw at 4:45pm on the newly renovated football field and stadium.
The Lady Riders were set to open up their season this past thursday at Panorama City High School vs Eagle Rock but was cancelled due to unhealthy air from a fire nearby.
After finishing the 2024 season with an overall record of 9-8 and 4-6 in the eastern league and losing in the second round of the division I playoffs to Panorama City 12-7 the Lady Riders quickly started the off season by working on conditioning, cardio and fitness and basic fundamentals . After losing a few key players from last season the Lady Riders will depend most on All City returner Arely Robles who will be playing both sides of the ball.
Karen Garcia and Daniela Camacho look to help out on defense while Sarai Ortega and Hannah Hernandez look to make big plays on offense.
During the summer the Lady Riders played in the ELAC flag tournament and placed second and also competed in the Wilson Wildcats tournament in Hacienda Heights.
Juan Pimentel will enter his third season as Head Coach with the help from Assistant Coach Alvaro Rios
