The Life and Legacy of Henry Ronquillo

 

Henry Ronquillo was a beloved husband, father, mentor, teacher,coach, and friend to all. Henry graduated from Roosevelt High School class of 1954, and went on to graduate from the University of Oregon where he received a full basketball scholarship. His career would span over 40 years with the Los Angeles Unified School District where he established many lifelong friendships, made countless memories, and touched the lives of many.

Henry Ronquillo stayed connected to the community in retirement, serving on the board of the Roosevelt Alumni Foundation, only one of many involvements he wholeheartedly enjoyed. In 2018, the Associated Administrators of Los Angeles awarded a Roosevelt student, the first Henry Ronquillo Honorary Scholarship at a ceremony where he was recognized for his notable career.
