This season marks a historical milestone for the Lady Riders program, as 2026 is the inaugural year for Roosevelt’s JV girls’ flag football team.
The Roosevelt Rough Riders JV flag football team defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 28-19 on September 10, 2026.
- The 2026 inaugural season for the Roosevelt JV flag football squad finally became reality on September 10th when the Lady Riders hosted Cleveland High School. For the past weeks JV games were canceled due to heat temperatures and schools not having JV teams. The Lady Riders were anxiously waiting to start the season off and were practicing hard and waiting on their moment while the varsity squad had already opened up the season.
The Lady Riders were led by offensive quarterback Isabell Diaz #11 who controlled the game throwing two touchdowns. The offense was led by Natalie Santamaria #3 WR, Camille Gonzalez #15 RB, Aleylanny Martinez #25 WR, Laila Melgar #4 WR who all scored touchdowns in the victory.
The defense was led by Brianna De La Cruz #27 safety , Desiray Villalobos #24 rusher, Bianca Cardenas #7 rusher and Itzel Tadeo #9 cornerback.
