Alhambra Starts off Right with Win over South El Monte

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Alhambra gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They slipped by the South El Monte Eagles 21-20. This was payback for the Moors, who suffered a 21-6 defeat the last time these two teams met. Alhambra was led to victory by Halen Tsang and Bryan Leonard.

Alhambra took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Saturday. They slipped by the South El Monte Eagles 21-20. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Moors were the better team in the second half.

Leading Alhambra to victory were Halen Tsang and Bryan Leonard. Tsang rushed for 127 yards and one score while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, while Leonard rushed for 23 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 127 rushing yards gave Tsang a new career-high.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alhambra will host El Monte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South El Monte, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Saddleback at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
