The Boyle Heights Wolfpack jr Pee Wee Division (10 & 11 year olds) captured its first San Gabriel Valley Junior All American Youth Football conference title Saturday, November 22nd, with a win over the Glendora Tartans 13-12.
The Wolfpack offense (Chuy Zesati Offensive Coordinator) was led by Aiden Davila, RB #4, scoring both touchdowns and the extra point, Matthew Lezo, QB/RB #33, who controlled the line of scrimmage and ran the ball hard throughout the game, Andrew Figueroa, QB/WR #8, also contributed to the offense with key plays, the offensive line held its ground with great blocking up front by Victor Orozco, T #69, and Adrian Cuadra, C #53.
The Wolfpack defense (Sergio Villarreal Defensive Coordinator) was very aggressive, which was also led by Aiden Davila, MLB #4, Eli Martinez, OLB #18, Matthew Lezo OLB #33, Nikko Buenrostro, CB #13, and Oliver Villarreal, DE #10. Their defense forced a few turnovers and made key plays to stop the Tartans from moving the ball and getting to the end zone.
The Boyle Heights Wolfpack Youth Football and Cheer organization has been waiting for a championship for over 30 years and it finally came to light. With the leadership of Head Coach Anthony Davila and his staff, the Jr Pee Wee’s came home with an impactful title for the city, SGVJAA Jr Pee Wee Champions. Coaching alongside his wife, Vanessa Tapia, who was the Head AD, Coach Davila continues to make a huge impact to his whole team, which includes his son, Aiden Davila, and athletes who he has been coaching for 5+ years. He made the dream of winning a championship a reality for his team. As a former Boyle Heights Wolfpack youth himself, he, along with his staff, pride themselves in making an impact in young athletes lives by providing them with guidance and motivation to be great for themselves, their families and the whole community of Boyle Heights, who stands right there with them.
Established in 1988, the Boyle Heights Wolfpack Football and Cheer Organization have been a big part of the community providing structure, discipline, mentorship, and teamwork, keeping kids engaged in positive activities and off the streets.
