Franklin High School’s football program, known as the Panthers, has a rich history, particularly in the Los Angeles City Section. They’ve won CIF LA City Section championships in 1922, 1983, 1986, 1987, 1989, and 2016, and have been finalists in 2008 and 2019. The team also boasts over 30 league championships. Their home field, affectionately nicknamed the “Panther Pit,” has been a source of pride and intimidation for opponents for over 50 years.
The Franklin Panthers will travel to Lynwood High School Friday, August 22 @ 7p.
The Bell Eagles will travel to neighboring city of Bell Gardens Friday, August 22 @ 7p.
The Bell Eagles, referring to the football team of Bell High School in Bell, California, have a history tied to the school’s opening in 1925 and its subsequent growth within the Los Angeles Unified School District. The school has served the communities of Bell, Cudahy, and Maywood.
