Montebello Gremlin Indians Defeat Rebels In a Gritty Contest

The Gremlin squad of Montebello had a tough foe this past Sunday 10/3, defeating the Rosemead Rebels 20-6.

In a game that turned out to be a war, the Indians managed to solve the Rebels relentless will.

Jorge Aldaco, #34 was once again a tough man to tackle as he scored the lone touchdown prior to the half. Montebello went into halftime leading 6-0.

The team overcame several moments of adversity. They overcame a multitude of turnovers and penalties to secure the triumph. 

There was a key 3rd quarter momentum swaying moment that took place. The hosts buckled up and stopped the visitors on a crucial 4th and inches in Indian territory. All 11 hats rallied to the pigskin in a swarming team tackle. It came down to the chains and the measurement favored the Indians.

On a 4th and long, deep in Rebel territory, Ethan Ponce, #21 made a stellar block to spring the aforementioned Aldaco and give the hosts a 12-0 lead in the third quarter. 

After that, the Indians lock tight defense was able to halt the Rebels offensive possessions. It was a resilient battle provided by the Rosemead Rebels.

Defensive Coordinator Chad Aldaco stated, “They were a strong and well coached group of kids that brought out the best in our kids today!” We will fix our flaws in practice, but hats off to the Rebels.” “Who knows, we might see them again?”

The Indians are now 4-0 in this young season.
