Legacy Tigers Defeat Roosevelt Behind Strong Performance From Samantha Vizcarra

Samantha Vizcarra was dominant in the circle, as they rang up 10 strikeouts in Legacy Tigers’s 8-1 victory over Roosevelt on Friday.

Vizcarra allowed five hits and one run over seven innings while walking none.

Legacy Varsity Tigers were the first to get on the board in the third when Brianna Gonzalez singled, scoring one run.

Legacy Varsity Tigers added four more runs in the top of the seventh inning on four hits. Sarai Raygoza doubled, scoring one run, Vizcarra doubled, scoring one run, and Katelen Pedroza homered to right field, scoring two runs.

A Sierra took the loss for Roosevelt. They went seven innings, surrendering eight runs on 12 hits,

Legacy Varsity Tigers collected 12 hits in the game. Alissa Andon and Pedroza were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for the Tigers. Vizcarra led Legacy with three hits in four at bats. Leslie Sanchez collected two hits for Legacy Varsity Tigers in four at bats. Legacy Varsity Tigers turned one double play in the game.

Bryanna Morales led Roosevelt with one run batted in.

The catcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Carla Pina, Emily Vasquez,  Bryanna Morales, Nicole Montes, and Princess Leon each collected one hit for Roosevelt. Roosevelt turned one double play in the game. Roosevelt were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Montes had the most chances in the field with nine.
