The Alhambra Moors softball team (Alhambra, CA), was routed 10-0 in Wednesday’s league test with the host Mark Keppel Aztecs (Alhambra, CA)
Mark Keppel put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They beat the Alhambra Moors by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for Mark Keppel.
Robyn Guitron made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn’t allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Guitron has been consistent recently: she hasn’t tossed less than five strikeouts every time she’s pitched this season. Guitron was also solid in the batter’s box, going 2-for-3 with a double.
In other batting news, Mark Keppel got a massive performance out of Jasmyne ( Prex ) Barraza, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Jasmin Molina was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
On Alhambra’s side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amari Antunez, who went 1-for-2 with a stolen base.
Mark Keppel is on a roll lately: they’ve won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7-1 record this season. As for Alhambra, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-15.
