Yesenia Villegas Puts On Strong Contact Performance As Legacy Varsity Tigers Take The Win Over Roosevelt

Yesenia Villegas collected three hits in three at bats, as Legacy Varsity Tigers defeated Roosevelt 13-0 on Wednesday. Villegas tripled in the third inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and singled in the second inning.

Legacy Varsity Tigers jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Isabella Medina drew a walk, scoring one run, Stephanie Salas doubled, scoring two runs, and N. Carranza induced Savannah Medina to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Legacy Varsity Tigers scored six runs on seven hits in the top of the third inning. Medina singled, scoring one run, Priscilla Medina tripled, scoring two runs, Villegas tripled, scoring one run, Katelen Pedroza doubled, scoring one run, and Alissa Andon singled, scoring one run.

Dail Dorado pitched three innings in relief for Legacy Varsity Tigers. The reliever surrendered one hit and zero runs while, striking out three and walking none. Medina stepped in the circle first for Legacy Varsity Tigers. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking none. N. Carranza started in the circle for Roosevelt. The hurler surrendered 13 hits and 13 runs (nine earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking five.

Legacy Varsity Tigers collected 13 hits in the game. Salas, Andon, and Medina each collected multiple hits for Legacy Varsity Tigers. Leslie Sanchez paced Legacy Varsity Tigers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying five walks for the game. Legacy Varsity Tigers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Andon had the most chances in the field with six.

V. Perez led Roosevelt with one hit in one at bat.
