The Banning High School football team broke open a close game with a huge second half for a 39-14 nonleague win over host Garfield on Thursday night.
Joe Villarreal had 113 of his 150 rushing yards in the second half and Sultan Moala had 86 of his 106 rushing yards in the second half as Banning outscored Garfield, 26-7.

Banning Pilots Defensive Coordinator Raymond Grajeda is no stranger to East L.A. Raymond played football at East L.A College in 2000-01 season as a Safety. In 2000 ELAC Huskies finished with a 7-4 record losing to El Camino College in the 1st Annual Chips for Kids Bowl played at Weingart Stadium.
