WHEN  WE FIGHT, WE WIN!

After three historic days of a strike led by SEIU Local 99 members, our Bargaining Team is proud to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement with LAUSD.

The agreement addresses our key demands and sets us on a clear pathway to improving our livelihoods and securing the staffing we need to improve student services. It was members’ dedication to winning respect from the District that made this agreement possible.

Members will be voting on the agreement. Our team will be sharing details during a Zoom SEIU Local 99 membership meeting on Monday, March 27 at 6pm. Zoom info coming soon.

Here are a few highlights of the agreement:

  • 30% wage increase
  • Retroactive pay of $4000-$8000, depending on job classification and years of service
  • $1000 bonus for all working in 2020-21
  • Increase to average annual salary from $25,000 to $33,000
  • 7 hours of work guaranteed for Special Education Assistants
  • Fully paid  health care benefits, including family coverage,  for members in Units F & G (Teacher Assistants, Community Representatives, After School Program Workers and others)

Our fight brought our city and country together. Mayor Karen Bass was instrumental to getting the District to finally start hearing our demands.

We are stronger as a union, and we have a stronger voice to fight for our students.
