Salesian’s Marcus Martin completed 16 of 29 passes for 220 yards and four touchdowns. The Mustangs ground game was led by Isaac Corona who rushed for 114 yards on 21 carries.
Cantwell quarterback Paul Armijo completed 10 of 30 passes for 132 yards. Receiver Ty Seed caught four of those passes for 78 yards.
This strange Spring season for high school football appeared unlikely just a few weeks ago, but California public health officials reviewed declining the COVID-19 numbers and gave the green light for outdoor (and later indoor) youth and high school sports, with modifications, of course.
