After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lincoln, Jefferson was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Fremont Pathfinders, posting a 49-10 win. The Democrats’ offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they’ve scored all season.
A big part of Jefferson’s victory came down to the chemistry between Joey Manning and his top target Nelsean Farmer. Manning threw for 187 yards and a pair of TDs while Farmer gained 144 total yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Farmer a new career-high in receiving yards (101). Roshaun Brown made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Jefferson didn’t go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Brown led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by himself. Jefferson received some extra help from Akiel Miller, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
The win got Jefferson back to even at 2-2. As for Fremont, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Looking ahead, Jefferson will challenge Firebaugh at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Fremont, they will face off against Diego Rivera at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
