Extra inning loss ends season for the Falcons

Holding a 3-0 lead through the first five innings, the Cerritos College softball team looked to be prepared to play a second game on Saturday in their Southern California Super Regional. However, visiting Santiago Canyon College scored a single run in the sixth inning, tied the game in the seventh and scored the eventual game-winning run in the eighth inning for a 4-3 win and 2-0 series victory. The loss ends the #2-seeded Falcons (32-12) season, while the Hawks (33-12), who were seeded #7, move on to the CCCAA State Championships.
