L.A Wilson High School Dedicates Baseball Game in Honor of Jaime “Big Dawg” Urbina












The Wilson (Los Angeles, CA) varsity baseball team won Tuesday’s home conference game against Lincoln (Los Angeles, CA) by a score of 14-2.

In Tuesday’s league challenge, the Wilson Mules (Los Angeles, CA) baseball squad triumphed over the visiting Lincoln Tigers (Los Angeles, CA), by a final score of 14-2.

With the win, Wilson upgrades its record to 6-4 on the season. The Mules host Verdugo Hills (Tujunga, CA) to battle the Dons in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 12.

The student body of Woodrow Wilson High School hosted a dedication baseball game in honor of Jaime “Big Dawg” Urbina (Wilson 1988). Jaime passed away on January 26, 2023. Jaime’s legacy is that of a hometown hero. His selfless giving spirit will always be a treasured memory for generations of Wilson students, past and present.



Andrew Urbina hurls ceremonial first pitch…⚾️✌🏽💙💛
At todays tribute baseball game honoring the late, Jaime “Big Dawg” Urbina (Wilson 1988), Jaime’s son Andrew threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Andrew also attended Wilson High School and was a member of Wilson’s 2011 championship baseball team. Many members of the Urbina family were present to witness the permanent retirement of Wilson baseball jersey #20 in honor of Jaime Urbina. A plaque recognizing Jaime Urbina as a Distinguished Wilson Alumni was also presented to his wife, Tish.
