Six RBI Day for Alexus Corona Seals the Deal in South Hills Varsity Softball’s Victory Over Downey Viking Varsity

Alexus Corona was an RBI machine on Saturday, driving in six on three hits to lead South Hills Varsity Softball past Downey Viking Varsity 17-1 on Saturday. Corona drove in runs on a double in the first, a single in the second, and a triple in the third.

South Hills Varsity Softball got things moving in the first inning. South Hills Varsity Softball scored one run when Joie Economides doubled.

Audrey Gallegos earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for South Hills Varsity Softball. Gallegos went five innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out five and walking zero.

Alyssa Ochoa was in the circle for Downey Viking Varsity. The hurler allowed ten hits and 11 runs over one and one-third innings, walking zero. Allie Colenzo threw two and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.

South Hills Varsity Softball tallied 16 hits. Isabella Venegas, Corona, Economides, Leah Morales, and Faith Hernandez all had multiple hits for South Hills Varsity Softball. Corona and Venegas each managed three hits to lead South Hills Varsity Softball. South Hills Varsity Softball didn’t commit a single error in the field. Corona had the most chances in the field with six.

Downey Viking Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Leilani Salgado had the most chances in the field with three.
